THE MTC/MTCSL READY FOR THE 2022 SEASON. COURT CASE WON TO KEEP THE CHAMP DE MARS

On Monday the 2nd of May, 2022, the Supreme Court gave its interim verdict concerning the injunction in favour of The Mauritius Turf Club and its rights of enjoyment on Champ de Mars.

The MTC resumes its rights on the Champ de Mars until Wednesday – Following the injunction lodged by the Mauritius Turf Club (MTC) against the municipality of Port Louis, the judge, Aruna Devi Narain, ordered an interim order until today Wednesday 4th May in favour of the MTC.

The MTC retains all its exclusive rights to the Champ de Mars.

Today Wednesday 4th May, this case will be resumed for a ‘final ruling’.

It is worth noting that the MTC lodged a ‘main case’ against the Municipality of Port Louis, the Ministry of ‘Local Government Disaster and Risk Management’, the Ministry of ‘Housing and Land Use Planning’ and the state.

The MTC/MTCSL is more than ready for the big start of the 2022 racing season!

The final verdict will fall today Wednesday, 4th of May, 2022. To date, the Champ de Mars is indeed under the management of The Mauritius Turf Club.

The Mauritius Turf Club together with its subsidiary MTC Sports and Leisure Limited have completed the payroll of all their employees for the month of April 2022 Monday afternoon, in the absence of a cash mismatch last week, which had been announced beforehand to employees on Thursday, April 28, 2022.

MTCSL is in the starting stalls and more than ready for the big start of the 2022 racing season!
